My best experience with making wine was having my friend Oliver, who is 93 years old and been making excellent wine all of his life, tell me my Bing Cherry wine was the best he had ever had. This man makes superb wine, so this was a well appreciated compliment. Oliver was the person that got me interested in homemade winemaking.

My best beer making experience was the time my brother was visiting and we brewed together. I've brewed whith others who seem somewhat interested, but brewing with him was a blast. We don't see each other too often and we always have fun when we are together. He wasn't just watching but he was totally into every step... asking questions and making comments along the way. Of course there was a fair amount of sampling of earlier batches going on as well as a couple of cigars and a general great time!
My best future brewing experience is winning the drawing associated with entering this "hall of fame!"

My best experience is seeing peoples face after tasting my wines. They can't believe a local guy can make good wines from a kit. I am getting ready to brew my first beer. I hope the beer comes out as good as my wine has. I also very much enjoy sharing my experience with others. I am a moderator on a couple wine forums and try to contribute to a couple others as well.

31 (5 gal.) Batches of Johannisberg Riesling, 7 (5 gal.) batches Merlot from Alexander's juice concentrate, 5 (2 gal.) batches of Bluberry from my own bushes, and 3 (2 gal.) batches of Rhubarb/Strawberry (80/20) from neighbor's garden. All well liked by family and neighbors.

In 2003, I had moved from college in River Falls, WI to graduate school in Lafayette, IN and had moved half of my belongings to my parents home in Milwaukee just before classes ended. Well, my father saw all of my homebrewing gear just sitting there and got the idea into his head that he'd make a batch. Ever since, we swap 6 packs of homebrew every time we see each other.

My first partial mash was a bit of a fiasco but still fun. It was an oatmeal stout and went on to win 3rd place in a competition!

My best experience has been making the step from an extract brewer into the all grain world. As of today, my first all grain brew is carbonating in 2 kegs after being pitched with 2 different yeast strains. This has been one of the most rewarding hobbies I have ever enjoyed.
